We are called to lives that incorporate prayer and service, and sometimes that means early mornings, late nights, or long hours. America’s executive editor Kerry Weber discusses her efforts to participate fully in home life, community life and the life of the Church while still maintaining her sanity. Drawing upon her book Mercy in the City and her family life, she will offer her thoughts on how she has tried to balance breadlines and deadlines and describe how her efforts for service have changed since moving from “city that never sleeps” to living in the Jersey suburbs with two kids who never sleep.
Offering $40, includes dinner as well as wine & cheese from 5:30 to 6:00

Kerry Weber is an executive editor for America magazine and an award-winning author. In 2013, she reported from Rwanda as a recipient of Catholic Relief Services' Egan Journalism Fellowship recognizing excellence in the Catholic media. A Mercy Associate and board member of the Ignatian Solidarity Network, she is author of Mercy in the City: How to Feed the Hungry, Give Drink to the Thirsty, Visit the Imprisoned, and Keep Your Day Job. She is a graduate of Providence College and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
